KNIGHTS, ORDUNO FINISH 2ND AT BAKERSFIELD INVITATIONAL
The San Diego City College men's cross country team had a strong showing at the Bakersfield Invitational on Friday with two top-6 finishers and a second place result as a team.
The San Diego City College men's cross country team had a strong showing at the Bakersfield Invitational on Friday with two top-6 finishers and a second place result as a team.
Sophomore Anthony Orduno led the way for the Knights as he ran the 4-mile course in 22:02, good for second place overall and just 24 seconds behind first place finisher Bryan Gaxiola of Bakersfield.
Freshman Omar Jimenez was not too far off the pace and came in sixth place with a time of 22:44. Sophomore Sebastian Luna crossed the finish line in 16th place with a time of 23:35 and Cisco Gonzalez was 18th (23:38).
Alan Lozoya (28th, 24:24), Adolfo Cisneros (31st, 25:02), and Arturo Sandoval (39th, 25:46) rounded out the top seven for City.
As a team, Bakersfield took first place with a total time of 1:53.26, while the Knights follwed with a time of 1:56.23.
