Well-trained and highly qualified athletic trainers are a vital part of the intercollegiate athletic experience at San Diego City College.

JAYME JENKINS, MS, ATC - HEAD ATHLETIC TRAINER
Jayme Jenkins has a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from California State University, Long Beach. Jayme went on to get a Master’s Degree at CSULB in Sports Medicine and Injury Studies while working as a Teaching Assistant for the undergraduate students in the Athletic Training Education Program.
Born and raised in San Diego, Jayme graduated from Westview High School before attending college. Upon college graduation, Jayme began working as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Chaffey Community College, as well as an adjunct professor. Due to Jayme’s husband’s service in the United States Marine Corp, she relocated to Florida, Texas, and North Carolina before finally returning home to Miramar. She is so excited to finally be home and working at San Diego City College.
KAYLEIGH SCOTT, BS, ATC - ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER
Kayleigh Scott has a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a minor in Personality and Social Psychology from San Diego State University.
Kayleigh was born and raised in North County and attended Vista High School before being accepted into the SDSU Athletic Training Program. Kayleigh has had experience with high school football as well as club soccer. She worked at San Diego City College and the University San Diego as a student in the Athletic Training program. She is thrilled to be back at City College. GO KNIGHTS!

WHAT IS A CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINER?
Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs) are specialists in the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and are recognized by the American Medical Association as Allied Health Care Providers. It is a challenging and rewarding field for people who love sports. Do you know that career opportunities exist at every level of competition?
