Bio

Aaron Detty is the Dean of Health and Exercise Science & the Athletic Director for the Knights. He is a proud alumnus of City College and played baseball for SDCC. Aaron transferred to UCSD to complete his playing career and bachelor degree.

Afterwards, he received his Masters in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University. In 2005, he was hired as a volunteer, then an assistant baseball coach at San Diego City College and went on to become the Associate Head Coach.

He served as a part time employee NANC, volunteered as an MC, worked as a part time instructor, and in 2009, Aaron was hired as a full-time professor. Aaron has assisted in program planning, student learning outcomes, and other processes that support the school’s efforts in accreditation. He was assigned the acting position in the fall of 2019 and was hired as the full time dean December 2021.

Aaron is supported by his wife Ashley, daughters Aria & Adeline, and son Austin.
