The first 5CTCA poll was released this week and the Knights made it on the list as the No. 15 team in Southern California after racing to two top-3 finishes in their first three meets of the season. It's the first time since 2021 that City has been ranked.
Led by sophomores Diandra Jara and Isabelle Dalton, who have been the top-2 runners for City at all three races, the Knights finished third at the SD XC Kickoff on Sept. 1 and placed second at last Friday's Coach Downey XC Classic.
Individually, Jara finished fourth overall at the Kickoff meet and earned fifth at the Downey Classic. Dalton was right behind her in both races as she crossed the finish line in sixth at both the Kickoff and Downey Classic meets.
They Knights will be running amongst a strong field on Friday, Oct. 6 at the Mesa Invitational at NTC Park in Liberty Station which is set for 10 a.m.
