Knights Sweep SWC to Start 2nd Half of PCAC Season
The Knights started the second round of the PCAC season with a 3-0 sweep of Southwestern on Wednesday night with Destiny Andersen tallying 20 kills and 19 digs. City improved to 3-6 in the conference and 4-10 overall.

San Diego City fell behind 19-16 in the opening set, but the Knights put together a 9-1 run to go on to take the set, 25-20.
Southwestern looked in control of the second set when they took a 15-9 lead, but the Knights climbed their way out of the hole once again with an 11-3 spurt to grab a 20-18 lead. The Jaguars responded with a quick 4-0 run to regain a 22-18 lead.
The Knights, however, tied the set at 22-22 after kills by Kailey Vecchia and Andersen, and then scored three more points in a row on two Southwestern errors and another Andersen kill.
After taking the first two sets, City struggled in the third and Southwestern took advantage. The Jaguars looked as though they would force a fourth set once they took an 18-8 lead, but the Knights fought back.
With Andersen serving, the Knights scored six straight to cut Southwestern's lead down to 18-14. With City trailing 21-18, Samantha Hernandez took over the serving and the Knights rolled off another seven straight points to win the set with Andersen getting three consecutive kills to finish off the sweep.
Sydney Bishop ended up with seven kills, 18 digs, 10 total blocks, and three service aces. Hernandez also finished with seven kills to go with 12 digs.
City libero Phina Bustos recorded 10 digs.
