The San Diego City women's volleyball team has qualified for the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season and will play at Rio Hondo on Saturday, November 23 at 4 p.m.
The San Diego City women's volleyball team has qualified for the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season and will play at Rio Hondo on Saturday, November 23 at 4 p.m.
The Knights, who earned the No. 18 seed for the postseason, went 14-10 overall and finished fourth in the PCAC with a 10-6 record. Their conference was one of the toughest in the state with three other teams (Grossmont, Mesa, and MiraCosta) ranked 11th or better in the state.
Saturday's match between the Knights and No. 15 Rio Hondo will be the second of the season. They also met on September 11 at Rio Hondo with the Roadrunners defeating the Knights, 3-1.
If the Knights go on to win, they will advance to play at No. 1 Irvine Valley on Tuesday, November 26.
Head Coach Dede Bodnar's Knights lost in the first round to Cypress a year ago, but made it to the elite eight of the CCCAA Championship in 2017. City lost to Riverside in the first round in 2016.
