San Diego City, which has dominated conference play so far by winning all six matches by the same 9-0 score, will get its first chance to secure the outright title on Tuesday at Mt. San Jacinto.
In Thursday's win over MSJC, the Knights started off by sweeping all three doubles matches. Angie Palmerin and Bethlehem Gezahegne got an 8-4 win in No. 1 doubles over MSJC's Madison Williamson and Breannah Baron.
City's No. 2 duo, Jessica Hoffpauir and Chiara Burgin, earned an 8-3 win over Trinity Anderson and Cameron Royo. Anya Villanueva and Thi Bich Ngoc Dang defeated Savannah Llado and Jadyn Brush, 8-2, in the No. 3 spot.
The same six Knights won their singles matches, all in straight sets. Palmerin (No. 1) and Burgin (No. 5) each blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0.
The Knights have now won 11 consecutive PCAC matches dating back to last season (2024) when they won their final five to claim their first conference championship in 24 years and their second in program history.
After Tuesday's match at Mt. San Jacinto, the Knights will close out the PCAC season at home against Imperial Valley on Thursday, March 27.
