The 2024 PCAC champion Knights have earned the No. 7 seed in the 3C2A Southern California regional playoffs and will travel to play at No. 4 Santa Monica in the first round on Tuesday, April 9 with the first serve scheduled for 2 p.m.
This is the first time since 2018 that the Knights have qualified for the playoffs and the second time since PCAC Coach of the Year Jami Jones has been at the helm.
The Knights went 9-9 overall and 7-1 in the PCAC this season, while Santa Monica finished 11-5 overall and 11-3 (2nd) in the Western State Conference. The winner of Tuesday's match will advance to play either No. 1 Orange Coast (19-1) or No. 6 Bakersfield (13-7) on April 16.
City will go into the playoff with some momentum after winning four of its last five matches.
The Knights also had a very successful showing at the PCAC championship this past weekend with Lucia Farmer defeating teammate Sinaia Haskal in the conference singles championship match.
Farmer also made it all the way to the doubles final with teammate Jessica Hoffpauir.
Four Knights earned all-PCAC honors, including Farmer, Haskal, Hoffpauir, and Anya Villanueva.
