Kure Scores a Hat Trick in 9-0 Rout of Imperial Valley

Kure got started early with an unassisted goal in the sixth minute and another goal in the eighth minute off a pass from Anais Thompson to give City a quick 2-0 lead.
Freshman Marissa Arnold put in her first goal of the year in the 20th minute and freshman Sydney Sanchez made it 4-0 with her first goal of the day in the 24th minute.
Kiki Josephson and Sanchez added two more goals in the 29th and 38th minutes, respectively, to give the Knights a 6-0 lead going into halftime.
Kure then scored her third of the day four minutes into the second half to give her four goals on the season, which ties her with Tessa Fernandez for the most on the team.
Riana Kitchen (68th) and Verenice Herrera (72nd) added their names to the scoresheet with goals to put the Knights up 9-0.
The Knights have outscored their last four opponents 18-0 and have not allowed a goal since September 21.
City has moved up into a second place tie with Southwestern in the PCAC standing during this 5-game win streak. They are on the heels of first place Mesa, which remains undefeated at 5-0-1.
City will host Southwestern on Friday, October 15 at 1 p.m. for the chance to move into sole possession of second place with a win. Friday's game was originally supposed to be played on September 24, but a thunderstorm just before kickoff forced the game to be rescheduled.
