City Wins 2-of-3 at Fullerton Crossover
San Diego City came away with two wins in three games at the Fullerton College Crossover, including Saturday's 75-52 victory over Porterville. Cerina Nguyen and Elissa St. Julian both recorded double-doubles to help the Knights improve to 9-4 with two more non-conference games remaining.

Nguyen finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds against Porterville, which was her eighth double-double of the season, and St. Julian registered her second double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Cusha Landry led the team with a game-high 18 points to go with seven boards. Christina Bowen also scored in double figures with 13 points, and Chancis Allen led the bench with nine points.
City had a 34-31 halftime lead and then scored the first eight points of the third quarter to grab an 11-point lead. Porterville got within seven late in the third, but the Landry, who scored 10 points in the quarter, pushed City's lead back up to 10 on a three-point play.
Porterville was still down by 10 midway through fourth quarter, but Bowen hit a 3 and then a free throw a few possesions later to give the Knights a 64-50 advantage.
The Knights' defense held Porterville scoreless for nearly five minutes while their offense blew the game open with what ended up being a 15-0 run.
The win was City's eighth in the last nine games. The Knights started the Fullerton Crossover with an 89-24 over Compton in which Nguyen recorded her first triple-double with a career-high 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 steals. Landry had a dobule-double in that game with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Christina Bown led with 15 points in a 62-41 loss to host Fullerton in the middle game of the crossover.
The Knights will be back home against Golden West on Dec. 21 at 4 p.m. in the final game of 2023. They will then play one more non-conference home game vs. L.A. Southwest on Jan. 5 at 4 p.m.
