Knights Welcome 11 Freshmen to the 2025 Team
Eleven incoming freshman have joined the San Diego City softball team for the upcoming 2025 season which is set to begin in late January. These new additions join 10 returning sophomores, which will give the Knights much-needed depth at every position.
Eleven incoming freshman have joined the San Diego City softball team for the upcoming 2025 season which is set to begin in late January. These new additions join 10 returning sophomores, which will give the Knights much-needed depth at every position.
Melanie Gonzalez is an right-handed outfielder from Calexico High School (Calexico, Calif.). "I'm grateful and excited for this new opportunity to play for San Diego City College," said Gonzalez. "I'm ready for a new challenge and new friendships."
Anneliese Gutierrez is a first baseman/outfielder from Holtville High (Holtville, Calif.). "I'm excited to play at San Diego City College because it's something new that I get to learn," said Gutierrez.
Araceli Teran played at San Diego High School and will be a pitcher and third baseman for City. "I'm excited and grateful to begin my journey at City to see all the growth and progress," said Teran. And to see where it'll send me."
Savannah Turner is a left-handed first baseman who is also from San Diego and played at Madison High. "I'm excited to be here at City because it's a place that I know will challenge my abilities both on the field and off the field," said Turner. "I can't wait to see where this program will take me."
Alyvia Pearson hails from Nampa, Idaho where she played outfield at Columbia High. "I like SDCC because I know it's going to get me to reach my academic and athletic goals," said Pearson.
Isabella Gonzales played at Mission Vista High in Vista, Calif. and will be shortstop/utility player for the Knights. "I'm so excited to play alongside such an incredible team of young women and to grow my skills as a player," said Gonzales.
Irina Renee Lainez is a second baseman from Palo Verde High in Blythe, Calif. "My time at San Diego City College has been great," said Lainez. "I've met a number of great teammates, a great motivational coach and have already learned so much."
Nikki Rocha also played at Palo Verde High as a shortstop. "I'm really excited to play ball for San Diego City College," said Rocha. "This program seems like a great place to grow on the field and off the field."
Sydney Letzing comes from Vancouver, Canada where she played outfield at Fleetwood Park Secondary School. "I'm super eager to start this new chapter at City and I'm excited to see where it will lead me," said Letzing.
Klarissa Soto is a catcher/infielder from Mount Miguel High. "I am very excited to be attending City as my next stepping stone in life an seeing where this journey takes me," said Soto.
Madison Stephenson is another out-of-state recruit from Erda, Utah where she played catcher and outfield at Stansbury High. "I'm so excited to be here at City and grow, not just as a player, but as a person as well," said Stephenson. I can't wait to see what this program can do!"
