Ari Mallari drove in a total of seven runs in Wednesday's doubleheader to help the Knights get 9-1 and 9-2 wins over Victor Valley. The Knights improved to 7-9 overall and have now swept three of the four doubleheaders they have played.

Mallari got things started for the Knights in the first inning of the day's first game by getting an RBI on a ground out to give City a quick 1-0 lead. The Knights then put together a 6-run second inning to take a commanding 7-0 advantage.
With the bases loaded in the second inning, Kylie Crull hit an RBI single, which was followed by a Cali De La Rosa RBI grounder. Cadence Krisell hit an RBI single to center field and then Mallari's triple to right field brought home two more runs.
The second inning was capped off by Shayann Beddow's RBI single to give the Knights their seventh run.
Victor Valley got a run back on a solo home run in the fourth inning, but City added two runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.
Starting pitcher Krisell got the win after allowing only two hits with three strikeouts.
Victor Valley took an early 1-0 lead in the second game, but it didn't last long. In the bottom of the first, Mallari tied the game with an RBI-single and then scored from third base while Victor Valley tried to pick off Beddow at second base to give the Knights a 2-1 lead.
In a repeat of the first game, the Knights put six runs on the board in the second inning to grab a 7-run lead.
An RBI single by De La Rosa, a 3-RBI triple from Mallari, a Beddow RBI single, and a Mykala Mercado sacrifice fly contibuted to City's 8-1 lead after two innings.
After Victor Valley scored in the fouth on a bases-loaded walk, Beddow recorded her second RBI of the game on a ground out that allowed Mallari to score.
Head Coach AJ Hull used three pitchers in that second game with Hadley Phipps getting the win after pitching the three middle innings and allowing two hits with one strikeout.
The Knights will return to PCAC play on Friday with a home game vs. Grossmont at 2 p.m. It will be part of the International Women's Day celebration with free admission, free food, and a free softball jersey give-away to the first 200 in attendance.
