City Places 3rd at PCAC Championship: Qualify for SoCal Regionals
San Diego City's men's cross country team finished in third place at the PCAC championship and earned a spot at the Southern California regional championship. It is the fourth time in the last five seasons that the Knights have qualified for the SoCal championship.
San Diego City's men's cross country team finished in third place at the PCAC championship and earned a spot at the Southern California regional championship. It is the fourth time in the last five seasons that the Knights have qualified for the SoCal championship.
David Kelling led the team once again as he completed the 4-mile course at Victor Valley College in 34th overall with a time of 23:12.
He was followed by Josh Pampo who crossed the finish line in 26:28, which was 65th individually. He was part of a City group that had four runners finish within eight seconds of each other, including Brandon Hernandez who placed 66th (26:30), Jake Frabl (26:34; 68th), and Markell Fuqua (26:36; 70th).
Miguel Valenzuela rounded out the top-6 for the Knights as he clocked in at 29:17 (79th).
The Knights will now have two weeks to prepare for the SoCal regional championship, which will be held at Chaffey College on Nov. 8 at 11 a.m.
