David Kelling Leads City at SD XC Kickoff Meet
The all-freshman men's cross country team had four runners compete in the season-opening San Diego XC Kickoff meet at Harry Griffen Park in La Mesa with David Kelling leading the Knights with a 17th place finish. Kelling, who is an ultra runner adjusting to shorter distances, completed the 5k course in 19:26.

The all-freshman men's cross country team had four runners compete in the season-opening San Diego XC Kickoff meet at Harry Griffen Park in La Mesa with David Kelling leading the Knights with a 17th place finish. Kelling, who is an ultra runner adjusting to shorter distances, completed the 5k course in 19:26.
He was followed by Sean Monney who crossed the finish line in 20:27, which was good for 21st overall.
Emmanuel Zavala came in 27th with a time of 22:53 and Coby Montes followed him with a 5k time of 24:46.
The Knights will be back at it next Friday, Sept. 8 at the Oxnard Invitational, which is set for a 10 a.m. start.
