ORDUNO LEADS KNIGHTS TO 5TH PLACE AT BRUBAKER INVITATIONAL
Sophomore Anthony Orduno was City's top finisher for the third time this season as he helped the Knights earn fifth place at the Brubaker Invitational at Irvine Regional Park.
Sophomore Anthony Orduno was City's top finisher for the third time this season as he helped the Knights earn fifth place at the Brubaker Invitational at Irvine Regional Park.
Orduno crossed the finish line in 9th place with a time of 21:10.5. He has been City's fastest runner in all three meets this year and has improved on his time at each race. He has cut over two minutes off his pace since the first meet (SoCal Preview) of the season.
Omar Jimenez ran the 4-mile course in 21:24.5 for an 18th place finish, which was nearly a minute and a half quicker than the last race in Bakersfield. Sebastian Luna was the third Knights to complete the course as he came in 60th overall with a time of 22:35.
Cisco Gonzalez (65th, 22:38.9), Alan Lozoya (98th, 23:29.56), Arturo Sandoval (112th, 23:54.4), and Adolfo Cisneros (134th, 24:44.8) rounded out the top seven for City.
Also finishing were Nico Narvaza (25:46.6), Jose De Orta (26:59), Cole Barrientes (37:01.8), and Angel Morales (37:01.9).
As a team, the Knights beat out Mesa (6th) and Palomar (15th), the only other PCAC teams that participated at the Brubaker Invitational.
City (1:51:18) was just over six minutes behind the winners, Mt. San Antonio, who ran in 1:45:08.
