City Improves to 3-0 in IEAC With 7-2 Win Over MSJC

The No. 1 doubles team of Brian Espinoza/Eduardo Castillo defeated Mt. San Jacinto's duo of Westman/Martinez, 8-1. City's No. 2 pair of Danny Cao/Porter Niccum got past Atas/Westrich, 8-3, to make it 2-0 Knights.
Luc DiMartini and Ramon Guzman lost their No. 3 doubles match, 8-4, to Proffitt/Del Valle.
In No. 1 singles action, Espinoza won his match, 6-2 and 6-1, over Thomas Westman. Castillo cruised to a 6-0 and 6-0 victory over Justin Atas at the No. 2 spot in the ladder.
Porter Niccum, who clinched the previous two matches for City, also won in straight sets on Tuesday as he defeated Anthony Torres-Martinez, 6-0 and 6-1, at the No. 3 position.
Cao earned his second win of the day by getting past Cole Proffitt, 6-0 and 6-1, in No. 4 singles.
In No. 5 singles, DiMartini did not allow his opponent, Connor Westrich, to win any points as he went on to win, 6-0 and 6-0.
Ramon Guzman lost his first set, 1-6, to Anthony Walmer, then nearly evened the match, but ultimately fell, 7-6 in the second set tie break.
