Not counting the 2020 season that was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Knights have now made the playoffs in four consecutive seasons. They finished second in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference this year with a 10-2 record and have gone 13-3 overall. The Knights' .813 win percentage is the highest since Brandon Lupian took over as head coach in 2007.
The Knights made it to the second round of the SoCal regional playoffs the last time they played a full season in 2019 and lost in the first round in 2017 and 2018.
Riverside went 9-6 overall and finished second in the Orange Empire Conference at 6-2.
The winner of Tuesday's playoff will advance to play the winner of No. 2 Ventura vs. No. 8 El Camino on Tuesday, April 12.
In addition to making the playoffs, the Knights had four players qualify for the individual Southern California regional championships which will be held at Fullerton College from April 29-30. Andrew Suver, Brian Espinoza, and Carlos Robles qualified for the singles tournament. The doubles teams of Suver/Robles and Sebastian Castaneda/Espinoza also qualified for the regionals.
