Bio
Darien McClain’s journey from walk-on to scholarship player showcases his rapid development and commitment to the game of basketball. He began his collegiate career at the University of Tampa before transferring to San Diego City College, where his talents flourished. Under the guidance of Coach Mitch Charlens, Darien played a pivotal role in leading the team to a CCCAA State Championship with a 31-5 record. Averaging a team-high 12.3 points per game, he also led the squad in assists, steals, and several shooting categories, including a 45% field goal percentage and 41.1% from three-point range.
 
Darien's standout season earned him several accolades, including State Tournament MVP, Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year, and SDCC Athlete of the Year. He then moved on to Azusa Pacific University, where he continued to excel as a two-time Second Team All-PacWest performer and received national recognition as Player of the Week.
 

Post-college, Darien launched his professional career in Romania's first division, where he further honed his skills. Now, as an assistant/player development coach, Darien brings his wealth of experience and knowledge to help players maximize their potential both on and off the court.
