After winning two of their first three games, the Knights came in as the No. 7 ranked team in the state according to the latest CCCMBCA poll released on Monday.
This is the first poll of the season with state rankings. In the previous preseason poll, the Knights were ranked No. 8 in Southern California.
San Diego City's only loss came in a 70-66 the season opener at defending state champion West Valley, which is now ranked No. 2 in the state.
The Knights responded to that loss by defeating No. 14 Yuba, 89-86, in overtime the following night. They then won their home opener last Saturday, 80-75, over Ventura with sophomores Kenny Gonzalez and Logan Huston leading the team with 17 points a piece.
The Knights will play three games in as many days at Allan Hancock College's Home Motors Tournament this weekend. They will open that tournament against unranked Barstow on Friday at 7 p.m.
San Diego City will then play No. 12 San Jose on Saturday at 5 p.m. and will wrap up the weekend against No. 22 Allan Hancock on Sunday at 1 p.m.
They will return home to host No. 3 Fullerton on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m.
