KNIGHTS CLAIM 3RD PLACE AT MIRACOSTA TOURNAMENT
The Knights won two of three games at MiraCosta's tournament, including an 83-68 victory over Miramar on Friday, to earn third place. Freshman Robby Robinson led the Knights with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists in the win over Miramar.

Sophomore Joseph Riley poured in 17 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists. Freshman Nashom Carter added 14 points, six rebounds, three blocks, and three steals.
The Knights held a 36-32 halftime lead over Miramar, but blew the game open by going on a 14-2 run in the first five minutes of the second half to grab a 50-36 lead. City went ahead by as many as 21 points as they went on to get their second win over Miramar this season. The Knights also beat the Jets, 102-72, at the Palomar tournament on November 24.
City opened the MiraCosta's tournament with a 79-36 blowout win over Barstow on Wednesday. Joseph Riley made 4-of-9 three-pointers on his way to a game-high 19 points. Robby Robinson had 13 points and 12 rebounds.
In the semifinals against Los Angeles Pierce on Thursday night, the Knights took a 57-55 lead on a 3-pointer by Adrian Byrd-Jelinek with 2:55 remaining, but Pierce outscored the Knights, 10-2, the rest of the way to win, 65-59.
Robinson led City with 19 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks, while Byrd-Jelinek added 12 points and five rebounds off the bench.
The Knights improved to 9-8 on the season and will play a home game against Mt. San Jacinto on Wednesday, January 9 at 7 p.m. before starting the PCAC South season on January 18 at Grossmont.
