Six Knights Named to All-PCAC Team
Six sophomores were named to the all-PCAC team after their most successful season since 2010 in which they won 22 games and qualified for the postseason for the first time in 14 years. Isaiah Hilke, Alejandro Gonzalez, Bobby Perebzak, and Jacob Pfitzner were selected to the all-PCAC first team, while pitchers Avery Laine and Erik Radder earned honorable mention.

Isaiah Hilke, Alejandro Gonzalez, Bobby Perebzak, and Jacob Pfitzner were selected to the all-PCAC first team, while pitchers Avery Laine and Erik Radder earned honorable mention.
Hilke, City's center fielder in all 40 games, batted .372 for the season which was second-best on the team. He led the Knights with a .445 on-base percentage and was second on the team with 55 hits that included five doubles and one home run. He finished with 17 RBI, 16 walks, 28 runs scored, and 14 stolen bases.
Catcher Alejandro Gonzalez hit .411, which was the best on the Knights and third-best in the PCAC. His 69 hits led the conference and were tied for third most in the state. Gonzalez hit 18 doubles which led the conference and were tied for fifth most in the state, and his eight home runs were sixth-best in the PCAC. On defense, Gonzalez threw out nine runners, which were the third-most in the PCAC.
Perebzak, who started 14 games and made 17 appearances, was among the state's strikeout leaders all season and ended up with 107, which was good for third in california and the most in the PCAC. He led the PCAC with an 11.07 strikeouts per nine innings rate was the best in the PCAC. He was also third in the state with 87 innings pitched and finished with a 3.52 ERA, which was seventh in the conference. In two seasons with the Knights, Perebzak threw 176.1 innings with 197 strikeouts and a 3.06 ERA.
First baseman Pfitzner won the state's home run title by hitting a total of 19, including 10 in the final 10 games as the Knights made their playoff push. His 52 RBI were second-most in the conference and tied for 11th in the state. Pfitzner recorded 43 hits while batting .305 and was walked 26 times, which was the most in the PCAC.
Laine, who started 11 games with a 6-3 record, finished the regular season with a 2.76 ERA, which was third-best in the conference. He was tied for seventh in the state with 92 strikeouts and his 10.57 strikeouts per nine innings rate was second-best in the conference behind Perebzak. During his time at City, he compiled 165 strikeouts in 146 innings with a 3.21 ERA and a 14-6 record.
Radder made 18 appearances on the mound this season with five starts and a 3-2 record in 41.2 inning of work. He had three saves this season, which was tied for second in the PCAC, and his 3.02 ERA was fifth-best in the conference.
