For the ninth consecutive year, Head Coach Chris Brown and the San Diego City baseball team held a clinic at Morley Field this past weekend where over 100 youth coaches were in attendance and Knight players and coaches instructed on fundamentals of hitting, pitching, catching, and fielding.
Youth coaches for teams that ranged from T-ball (5-6 year olds) to majors (13-14 year olds) participated in the free clinic put on by the Knights. The coaches brought their bats and gloves and performed the drills that the Knights were teaching so they could use them at their Little League practices.
"We believe the local youth leagues are the future of the city college baseball program and if we can instill our philosophy at a young age through the youth coaches, we are building that foundation," said Brown.
"The clinic also serves as an outreach to the community as the youth coaches, we hope, spread the word that City College can one day be the place for their players to go to college and further their baseball careers," continued Brown.
