The San Diego City College baseball team won its second consecutive game on Wednesday, 5-2, over San Bernardino Valley at Morley Field.
The Knights' 5-run second inning ended up being all they needed to capture their third victory in the last four games. Alejandro Velasco brought the first run in with a sacrifice fly. Then, with the bases loaded, Hector Carreon and Nick Mora earned back-to-back RBI-walks to give City a 3-0 lead.
AJ Trias then hit a single up the middle that brought in two more runs for a 5-0 advantage.
San Bernardino got on the board with two runs in the top of the fifth to close the gap, but City's relievers did now allow any more runs the rest of the way.
Juan Jacobo pitched the 6th and 7th innings and allowed only one hit. Makena Fo shut down SBVC in the 8th and Chase Martinez earned the save after getting two strikeouts in the 9th to end the game.
The Knights improved to 3-4 in the PCAC and 3-13 overall. They will play at San Bernardino on Thursday at 2 p.m. and the same teams will wrap up the series at Morley Field on Saturday at noon.
