MARTINEZ' WALK-OFF HIT LIFTS KNIGHTS TO 5-4 WIN OVER MESA

The win improved City's record to 8-8 overall and 3-4 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.
Mesa broke a scoreless tie in the top of the third with two runs, both of which were scored on an error by City shortstop Anthony Warneke.
Warneke led off the bottom of the fourth with a single to center field which was followed by a John Salda walk and a bunt single from Tyler Flores. After a force out a home, Alex Bentley put the Knights on the board with an infield hit.
Scott Martinez came up next and hit an RBI-single that tied the game at 2-2. Dylan Dudley followed and put the Knights ahead, 3-2, with a sacrifice fly to center field.
In the bottom of the sixth, Frank Lopez hit a triple to left field and then scored on Bentley's sacrifice fly to give the Knights a 4-2 advantage.
Mesa responded in the top of the seventh with two runs off a triple and a fielder's choice that locked the teams in a 4-4 tie until the bottom of the ninth.
Martinez led the final inning off with an infield single. He advanced to second base on Dudley's sacrifice bunt, and to third base on Diego Blanco's ground out.
With two out, Martinez pinch hit for Addison Hull and came through with a long single off the left field fence to give City the win. His teammates mobbed him as he rounded second base and celebrated the walk-off victory.
The Knights finish off the season series with Mesa on Friday at 2:00 p.m. The Olympians have won two of the three games so far this season.
