Andersen, Bishop Propel Knights to First Win of the Season

Destiny Andersen and Sydney Bishop each had a major impact on offense and defense in City's win over Chaffey with Andersen recording 16 kills and 22 digs, and Bishop adding 13 kills along with 21 digs. Bishop also tallied a season-high nine total blocks.
City won the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-21, before losing the third set, 21-25, but responded with a strong effort in the fourth set and finished off Chaffey, 25-14.
Setters Leah Reid (20) and Cordelia Gipson (15) combined for 35 assists.
Andersen had 20 digs in the loss to Saddleback, making it the third time in five matches that she has reached 20+ digs. She also had a team-high nine digs, while Bishop added six.
Allison Wygal spent more time as the setter vs. Saddleback and dished out 12 assists to go with 17 digs.
The Knights have a week off before their next match at Southwestern on Sept. 15 to start the PCAC season.
