
San Diego City's women's volleyball team is off to a 2-0 start in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference after earning their second consecutive sweep at Miramar on Wednesday night. Sophomore Ashley Davies led City with 12 kills and eight digs in the 3-0 (25-23, 25-10, 25-17) road victory.
Alexis Mines helped the Knights with nine kills and five digs, while Jadian Dilg added six kills to go with four total blocks.
Riley Hearn and Sarah Cashman each contributed four kills. Jillian Geenen (19 assists) and Kai Arriaga (14 assists) combined for 33 assists.
After edging out a 25-23 win in the opening set, the Knights were in control in the next two sets, winning 25-10 and 25-17.
The Knights will play their PCAC home opener on Friday at 6 p.m. against Palomar. San Diego City will be celebrating Latinx/Chicanx heritage month before and during Friday's match with free tacos beginning at 4:30 p.m. Thre will also be free souvenirs, raffles, and contests with prizes up to $100.
