Women's volleyball player Ashley Davies has been selected as a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week after totaling 20 kills and 22 digs in two matches last week.
Davies, a freshman outside hitter from Burney, Calif., recorded seven kills and six digs in a road loss to Golden West on September 15. She came back with 13 kills, 16 digs, and three total blocks in an all-around effort that helped the Knights earn a 3-1 home victory over Imperial Valley to start the PCAC season.
Davies's hitting percentage has improved each outing and had her best two matches last week. She hit .353 against Golden West and had a season-best .370 percentage against IVC.
She is currently third on the team in kills (53), digs (83), and total blocks (12).
Faith Patterson earned honorable mention for PCAC Athlete of the Week after tallying six kills and nine digs in the match agains Golden West, and 10 kills along with 20 digs in the win over IVC.
The Knights have a 3-4 overall record so far and are 1-0 in the PCAC with a home match vs. Miramar on Wednesday, September 22 at 5 p.m. and a road match at Palomar on September 24, also at 5 p.m.
