WEARREN & GRIFFIN WIN PCAC DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP!
The doubles team of Eliza Wearren and Palia Griffin won the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference doubles championship on Saturday after taking down the top two ranked pairs.
The doubles team of Eliza Wearren and Palia Griffin won the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference doubles championship on Saturday after taking down the top two ranked pairs.
Wearren and Griffin faced the top ranked doubles team from College of the Desert and defeated them in three sets (6-2, 4-6, 7-5). They then went up against the No. 2 ranked team from Grossmont and looked great as they clinched the conference title in a quick two-set match (6-3, 6-0).
Wearren and Griffin were both named the the All-PCAC team and qualified for the state championship tournament in both singles and doubles. Teammates Alayna Abellana and Estefania Lemus also qualified for the doubles tournament. Abellana will be playing in the singles championship as well.
The state championship tournaments will be held in Ojai from April 25-28.
The Knights went 9-9 overall in dual competition this year and finished third in the PCAC with an 8-4 record.
