Knights Win by 35 on Sophomore Night
Lone sophomore Gianna Spatafore got a nice send-off in the Knights' final home game of the season as they blew out Grossmont, 79-44, to improve to 7-6 in the PCAC and 11-16 overall. Spatafore, who started on Tuesday night, contributed four points and five rebounds in the big win, while Vean Gorgees gave the Knights 19 points, including 5-of-10 from 3-point territory, off the bench.

Imani Moore also had a big night off the bench with 11 points and 14 rebounds, her second double-double in the last four games.
Kaniya Lloyd produced 13 points and five rebounds off the bench and Sarah Henry added 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
The Knights only had a 2-point lead after one quarter, but they outscored Grossmont, 21-7, in the second quarter to build a 34-18 halftime lead.
Grossmont wasn't able to make up any ground in the third quarter with City winning the period, 15-13, to keep an 18-point lead.
Then the Knights really got going in the fourth. They started the quarter with an 11-2 run in the first two minutes to grab a 60-33 lead to put the game away. City shot 50% from the floor in the fourth, including 2-of-4 on 3s, and they made 8-of-11 from the free throw line as the Knights went on to earn their second largest win of the season.
Cerina Nguyen had six points, 12 rebounds, two assists, and three steals in the win. It is the 11th time this season that she has brought down at least 10 rebounds.
City will wrap up the 2021-22 season with a road game at MiraCosta on Friday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m.
