Lenny Padilla, Jill Begley, Ariana Hencke Make All-PCAC
The San Diego City College softball team had three players selected to the All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference team, including freshman Lenny Padilla who was named to the second team. Freshman Jill Begley and sophomore Ariana Hencke earned honorable mention.
The San Diego City College softball team had three players selected to the All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference team, including freshman Lenny Padilla who was named to the second team. Freshman Jill Begley and sophomore Ariana Hencke earned honorable mention.
Padilla led the Knights in batting average (.344) and doubles (5), and was second in on-base percentage (.373). She finished with 22 hits, including two triples, and had the second most RBI (9) on the team. As a pitcher, Padilla earned three wins with six complete games and struck out 42 batters.
Begley was the starting pitcher in 12 of the Knight's 30 games and made a total of 18 appearances with five complete games. She struck out a team-high 49 batters and also earned one save along the way. Begley batted .327 with 17 total hits, including two doubles, and drove in six runs.
Hencke finished the season with a .329 batting average with a team-high 27 hits, including four doubles and four triples. Her 11 RBI were tied for the most on the Knights and she scored the second-most runs (14).
