City with 4 in Top 20 to Earn 2nd Place at Bakersfield Invitational
San Diego City's men's cross country team participated in their second meet on Friday at the Bakersfield Invitational and came in second place with four Knights in the top 20. Nathaniel Loving was the first Knight to cross the finish line by running the 4-mile course in 23:40, good for 10th place.
San Diego City's men's cross country team participated in their second meet on Friday at the Bakersfield Invitational and came in second place with four Knights in the top 20. Nathaniel Loving was the first Knight to cross the finish line by running the 4-mile course in 23:40, good for 10th place.
Loving was followed by Alan Lozoya who was right behind him in 11th place with a time of 23:55. Armando Delgado ended up in 14th by clocking in at 24:16 and Jonathan Garcia finished the race in 17th place (24:47).
Antonio Quintana (22nd; 25:37), Robert Gonzalez (25th; 26:22), and Uriel Lopez (30th; 27:51) rounded out the top seven for the Knights who were just over seven minutes behind first place Bakersfield and 1:17 ahead of third place Allan Hancock.
A total of nine Knights ran the Bakersfield Invitational, including Nico Narvaza (33rd; 32:20) and Cole Barrientes (36th; 37:51), but their times were not counted in City's total score.
They will run again this Friday, October 1st at the PCAC Preview meet, which will be held at Liberty Station (NTC Park) with an 11 a.m. start.
