Bio

Kevin Lacy is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Knights. Prior to arriving at San Diego City, Lacy spent the 2022-2023 season as a video and player development assistant for the Indiana Pacers. While with Indiana, Kevin helped prepare video edits for the coaching staff and assisted on court with player development and practices. 

He also was an assistant coach in the TBT for Bleed Green (North Texas Alumni) where his team reached the tournament championship. Kevin managed the offensive side of the ball and helped create a system built on space and pace. 
 
Prior to Indiana, Kevin was a graduate assistant under Jim Larrañaga at the University of Miami. During that season, Miami reached the Elite 8 of the NCAA tournament, falling to the eventual national championship team Kansas. While at Miami, Kevin worked closely with and managed the player development of two First Team ACC players Kameron McGusty & Jordan Miller. Miller was later drafted in 2023 by the Los Angeles Clippers.
 
Before arriving in Miami, Kevin was a high school Head Coach at the San Diego Jewish Academy (2020-2021) and worked as a private trainer and AAU coach in the San Diego area.
 
During 2019-2020 season, Kevin was assistant coach at College of the Desert, helping the program post its best overall record in the past 10 years. While at Desert, Kevin led the programs player development helping two players earn all conference honors and six players earn athletic scholarships. 
 
Kevin worked for three summers (2017, 2018, 2019) for Pure Sweat Basketball in Los Angeles. While with Puresweat, He worked under NBA consultant & trainer Drew Hanlen. He helped facilitate NBA pro days each summer and assisted with off season workouts of NBA players including Jayson Tatum, Zach Lavine, Joel Embiid, Bradley Beal, RJ Barret, and Markelle Fultz.

Kevin earned his bachelor’s in Communication from Ottawa University where he played for the team on an athletic scholarship. Prior to Ottawa, Kevin played two years of junior college basketball at San Diego Mesa College. He also graduated with a Master’s degree in Kinesiology from California Baptist University during 2021.
