Steps to Admission
We're looking forward to welcoming you to the Knights' basketball program this season and we want the process of making you part of our program to be as quick and easy as possible. To do that, we need you to complete the following steps 45 days PRIOR to the start of school in Fall.

Incoming New Students
Welcome to San Diego City College and Knights Athletics! For all student-athletes coming to SDCC, please complete the corresponding checklist and send all required transcripts: Attn: Admissions & Records.
1. Financial Aid Application.
Visit Fafsa.ed.gov to start the application process. (City School Code:001273)
2. Application for Admission.
Complete a school application. For questions regarding applying at City, call Admissions & Records at 619-388-3475.
Once you have received your “CSID” Student ID number, you must activate your MySDCCD Student Account.
3. Placement Test.
All freshmen must take a placement test in Math, English and Reading before they can be enrolled. You may take this assessment test at San Diego City College, or take the test at your local community/junior college and submit results. Results must be sent to San Diego City College.
a. At SD City: You must be accepted as an City College student, and must present a picture ID.
b. At your local Community College/University: You may test at another Community/Junior College-but make sure that the test is ACCUPLACER.
c. ACT/SAT Scores if appropriate based on Evaluation.
(WORD OF ADVICE: Take your time on the test, do your best, and remember that you are allowed breaks. The test is not timed. Those that fare well on the test may avoid having to enroll in developmental classes at City.)
4. Registration for classes:
After your Placement results/Test Scores have been processed, schedule a Counseling Appointment for an Education Plan for registration in Fall Classes.
5. Transcripts.
**Due to COVID-19 San Diego City College will not be accepting hard copy official transcripts. Please have official transcripts emailed to tinquiry@sdccd.edu.**
a. High School Students: May be required to provide an official copy of your high school transcript (with a graduation date posted) if identified at time of Application as “Current HS Student.” Make arrangements with a school official to mail an official transcript with your date of GRADUATION/Diploma the day after you officially graduate from high school.
b. Transfer Students: All incoming students will be checked against national database. We will need an official transcript from each college you have attended.
