San Diego City moved one step closer to a conference championship by getting a 78-62 home win over Miramar (15-11, 10-4 PCAC) to remain in a first place tie with MiraCosta (19-7, 13-1 PCAC) with two games remaining.
Friday night's win was the sixth straight for the Knights as they improved to 25-4 overall and 13-1 in the PCAC. It is the fifth time in the last seven seasons that they have reached the 25-win mark.
Alex Crawford scored a game-high 20 points, 12 of which came in the second half, and grabbed six rebounds. He has scored at least 20 points six times this season, including in four of the last six games.
Kevin Moore knocked down three 3-pointers and made all four free throw attempts on his way to 15 points.
Al Green put in 12 points, while Keavie Love provided 10 points and six boards off the bench.
Moore hit back-to-back 3s midway through the first half to give City an 11-point lead, but the Miramar Jets cut that deficit down to 35-29 at halftime.
The Knights' defense clamped down on the Jets after the break and held Miramar without a made field goal for the first seven minutes of the second half. San Diego City went on a 13-2 run during that stretch to go up 48-31.
Miramar, led by Markees Williams' 16 points, did not get any closer than 14 the rest of the game as the Knights held the Jets to 42.3% shooting in the second half. On the flip side, the Knights made 13 of their 23 shots (56.5%) in the second period as they pulled away for the win.
San Diego City will head to Palomar on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and will finish the PCAC season with a home game against MiraCosta on Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. in what could decide the conference championship.
