San Diego City, which has an average margin of victory of 20 points in conference play so far, shot a scorching 66.7% in the first half, including 6-of-11 on 3s, and it looked as though they were headed towards another blowout win when they went ahead by 26 late in the first half, but Southwestern had other ideas.
The Jaguars chipped away at City's lead and outscored the Knights, 45-19, from the :50 mark of the first half until the 6:08 mark of the second half when they tied it at 70-70.
City's KJay Bradley (11 points) put the Knights ahead by two on a layup, but committed his fifth foul on Southwestern's next possession.
After a pair of Southwestern free throws to tie the game at 72-72, City's Moore converted a 3-point play with 4:38 remaining that started the 12-1 run the Knights needed to pull away.
Neither team made a field goal after that until Moore put an exclamation point on the game with a fast-break dunk with 0.5 left on the clock.
The Knights, however, made 6-of-7 from the free throw line down the stretch to seal the home win.
Al Green finished with 14 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Alex Crawford, who was named PCAC Athlete of the Week after totaling 50 points and 18 rebounds in two wins last week, had 11 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks.
With MiraCosta's loss to Palomar tonight, San Diego City is now a half game ahead of the Spartans for first place in the PCAC.
City has four games remaining, including home games vs. Miramar on Feb. 16 and against MiraCosta on Feb. 23, in what could end up being the conference championship game.
City's next game is on the road at Imperial Valley on Friday at 6 p.m.
