In the first game of the Home Motors Tournament against Santa Barbara, the Knights got off to a slow start and fell behind 16-1, but recovered to take a 37-33 halftime lead with Bradley scoring 11 of his 14 points in the first half. City then used a 14-2 run to grab a 58-42 lead near the midway point of the second half and went on to win, 83-64, with Love scoring a team-high 15 points off the bench. Dillon Cubit added 10 points and five rebounds, and Kevin Moore provided six points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
On Saturday, the Knights went up against No. 25 San Jose City and shot only 25% in the first half and fell behind by as many 14 in the second half. They fought their way back into the game by closing the gap to 54-50 with 3:25 left after a jumper by Bradley, but San Jose held on for the 65-59 win.
Love led the Knights once again with 17 points off the bench. Bradley added 12 points, four rebounds, and three steals, and Alex Crawford finished with 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
The Knights matched up against the host and 6th-ranked Allan Hancock on Sunday and responded well after Saturday's loss. Bradley scored 15 of his game-high 22 points in the first half and the Knights closed the first with a 15-2 surge in the last 2:38 to take a 44-28 haltime lead.
Allan Hancock never got any closer than eight points and that wasn't until the final three minutes of the game. Love, who moved into a starting role, scored 18 points. Kenny Gonzalez had his biggest output of the season with 12 points and three rebounds off the bench. Al Green and Cubit had 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The Knights have already played four top-25 teams and have come away with wins against No. 9 Chabot and No. 6 Allan Hancock. Their next game isn't until Dec. 1 when they match up against No. 28 Saddleback in the first game of the Grossmont Invitational with the tip scheduled for 1 p.m. If the Knights advance to the championship game of that tournament, they could end up facing No. 2 Yuba, who they defeated in last year's Grossmont Invitational final.
