Al Green Earns PCAC Athlete of the Week Honors

Freshman guard Al Green scored at least 21 points in all three games last week to help the No. 8 Knights go 2-1, including a win over No. 13 Miramar, and as a result has been named Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week.
Green started the week by putting up 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in an 82-60 win over Miramar. Two days later, he led the team with 23 points to go with five rebounds and two assists in a road loss at Palomar.
In last Friday's home game against MiraCosta, Green poured in a season-high 26 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-7 from 3-point territory, to lead City to a 69-64 win. He also added seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
In all, Green totaled 70 points, including nine 3-pointers, 21 rebounds, seven assists, and four blocks for the week.
The freshman has scored in double figures in 16 of the Knights' 20 games and has reached the 20-point mark five times. He currently lead the team in scoring with 14.1 points per game.
Green and the Knights have two home games this week. They host Grossmont on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and then play Cuyamaca on Friday at 5 p.m.
