Anthony Howell Named PCAC Athlete of the Week
Anthony Howell, the lone returning sophomore, has been named Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for the week ending on January 8. Howell tallied 21 points, 18 rebounds, eight assists, and five steals in two conference wins to help the 7th-ranked Knights improve to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in the PCAC.

Howell tallied 21 points, 18 rebounds, eight assists, and five steals in two conference wins to help the 7th-ranked Knights improve to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in the PCAC.
In a 98-67 blowout win at San Diego Mesa, Howell scored 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go with eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
He then followed that up with nine points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and two steals in an 84-77 comeback home win over Southwestern. It was the third time this season that Howell has brought down at least 10 boards.
He is currently averaging 10.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.7 steals. Howell is shooting 62.1% from the field, which is 12th best in the state.
Howell and the Knights are on the road this Wednesday at Imperial Valley (0-14, 0-4 PCAC) at 5 p.m. They are back home on MLK Day (January 16) for a big game against No. 13 Miramar (14-2, 4-0 PCAC) at 5 p.m. with the winner taking sole possesion of first place in the conference.
