Perebzak Strikes Out 10 in 3-2 Over MSJC
Despite the cold and windy conditions, Bobby Perebzak struck out a career-high 10 strikeouts while holding Mt. San Jacinto to a season-low two runs in the Knights 3-2 home win at Morley Field on Wednesday. San Diego City improved to 9-4 while extending its win streak to six and gave Mt. San Jacinto (10-2) its second loss of the season.

Mount San Jacinto struck first by scoring a run in the opening inning off of two doubles. The Eagles hadn't scored less than five runs in any game so far this season and it appeared as though they were on their way to at least that many after scoring in the first inning, but Perebzak had other ideas.
He struck out the side in the second inning and then retired all three batters in the third. City's offense, meanwhile, provided run support in the bottom of the third inning. With two out and C.J. Brown already on base, Gabe Jones got an infield hit that allowed Brown to move to third base.
Quinn Johnson came up next and hit his team-leading fifth home run of the season to put City ahead, 3-1.
Mount San Jacinto got one back in the fifth inning on a bases loaded walk and then threatened in the sixth inning with runners at the corners, but Perebzak got Gavin Copeland to pop out into a double play and then got San Jacinto's next batter, Andre Torres, to fly out to end the inning.
Perebzak got the first two out in the top of the eighth before Jacob Hennessey came in to relieve him. San Jacinto put together one last threat in the top of the ninth, but Hennessey was able to close the Eagles out to earn his first save of the year.
Up next is an away game (weather permitting) at Saddleback on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Knights will then wrap up the non-conference schedule at home on Feb. 28 against L.A. Mission at 2 p.m.
