The Knights scored the first two goals of Friday's game at Santiago Canyon and held on to win 2-1, their second consecutive road victory. Alexander Torres and Jamesley Exantus each put in their second goals of the season as the Knights improved to 2-1-2.
City was coming off a 5-3 win at Rio Hondo a week ago and carried the winning effort over to today's game, which was the fifth straight away match.
Exantus, last season's scoring leader, got the Knights on the board first with his goal in the 32nd minute, the lone goal of the first half.
City then took a 2-0 lead early in the second half after Torres' strike in the 46th minute.
It appeared as though the Knights could earn a clean sheet, but Santiago Canyon answered with a goal in the 81st minute and continued to put pressure on City's defense.
A Canyon shot hit the post in the 88th minute and then, after a foul in the box, they earned a penalty shot in the 90th minute.
City goalkeeper Diego Garcia came up big and saved the PK along with another Canyon shot on goal just before the final whistle to preserve the win.
The Knights have another two road games coming up next week. They travel to Compton for a 3 p.m. game on Tuesday and then head to Saddleback College on Friday, also at 3 p.m.
