Sophomore point guard E'maniee Powell tied the game with 0.4 left in regulation and then the Knights pulled away in overtime for a 70-62 victory over Imperial Valley. The win was City's sixth in a row as they improved to 11-12 overall and 6-0 in the PCAC South.

Powell played all 45 minutes and had a season-high 23 points to go with eight rebounds and four assists.
Angeleah Johnson had 16 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, and four steals in the win. Mariah Wonders added 13 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.
Things looked bad for the Knights when they fell behind, 58-53, with 2:16 remaining in the fourth quarter, but they fought their way back.
After a timeout, Powell knocked down a 3 to make it a one possession game.
The Knights forced three turnovers, but couldn't take advantage of any of them. They missed seven shots, including three layups, but had the ball with four seconds left.
Head Coach Andrea Aguilar-Montalban set up the play during a 30 second timeout and the result worked great for the Knights. Powell caught the inbound pass and drove in for the game-tying layup as she was fouled with 0.4 showing on the clock.
Powell missed the free throw and the game went to overtime, but the Knights came out strong in the extra period. The Knights scored the first eight points and never looked back as they went on to win, 70-62.
The Knights shot a poor 29.8 percent but had 47 offensive rebounds and an 18-0 advantage on second chance points.
City will be able to clinch their second straight PCAC South championship with a win at Grossmont on Friday night. The Knights will close the conference season with a home game against Southwestern on Wednesday, February 14 at 5 p.m.
