The Knights earned their third consecutive shutout on Friday by defeating Imperial Valley, 4-0, to improve to 3-1-1 in the PCAC.
City lost its first eight games of the season, including the PCAC opener against Southwestern on October 4, but the Knights have not lost since and have been victorious in three of their last four matches.
The Knights on the board early when an IVC turnover led to a 20-yard goal from Erwin Hampton in the sixth minute with an assist from Alejandro Ortega.
City earned a corner kick less than five minutes later, which Jordy Robolledo took, and he found Dalton Kinney at the back post, who then headed it down to Federico Olvera's feet for the easy goal to put the Knights ahead, 2-0, less than 11 minutes into the game.
The next San Diego City goal came off another corner kick in the 50th minute. Ivan Gonzalez took this kick and it sailed to the middle of the box where Kinney headed it into the back of the net.
Neftali Bojorquez added an unassisted goal in the 58th minute to put the Knights on top, 4-0.
The Knights dominated the match throughout and outshot Imperial Valley, 28-8. Imperial Valley's goalkeeper, Ernesto Pereda, saved 14 shots.
City will be on the road for the next three games beginning with a battle for first place in the PCAC at Cuyamaca on Tuesday, October 22 at 3 p.m.
