Knights Win Season Series Over Grossmont With Comeback Wins
The Knights scored six runs in the seventh inning to help turn a 3-0 deficit into a 6-3 road win on Friday at Grossmont as the Knights improved to 13-12 overall and 6-7 in the PCAC. It was the second comeback win over the Griffins this week to help the Knights win the season series, 3-2.

In the first game of the week between these teams on Wednesday at Morley Field, Chaz Kaneakua came through with a walk-off 2-RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to give City a 3-2 win.
Then, in another tight game on Thursday at Grossmont, it was the Griffins who scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game and send it to extras where they eventually won in the 11th inning.
They were back at Grossmont on Friday when the Griffins got out to a 3-0 lead going into the seventh inning. That's when the Knights' offense erupted for six runs off five hits to take the lead for good.
Jake Pfitzner led the inning off with a single and Tom Early then reached on an error. Both of them scored on Alex Chacon's double to left field and then Early came home to tie the game when Kaneakua reached on another error.
Later in the inning with the bases loaded, Alex Gonzalez drove in the winning runs with a 2-RBI double to right field. Three batters later, Isaiah Hilke produced City's sixth run of the inning on a sacrifice fly that allowed Cameron Tarling to cross home plate.
Jaylin Padilla, who got his second win of the year, walked the first Grossmont batter in the bottom of the seventh, but then got the next two to ground out and then finished off the inning by getting Jacob Embleton to pop out.
Brevin Taft pitched the final two innings and earned his first save of the season after allowing just one infield hit.
The Knights will play three games against Southwestern this coming week starting with a 2 p.m. game on Tuesday at Morley Field.
